Tired of overpriced granola that’s full of sugar and weird oils? This sourdough discard version is crispy, tangy, and very customizable. Clean out your pantry, use up your starter, and snack happy. 🍯✨ 👇 Grab the recipe & let me know your favorite add-ins! YOU WILL NEED: 3 cups oats* 1u002F2 cup butteru002Fcoconut oil, melted 2 tbs honey 100 g sourdough discard 2 tbs coconut sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 3 tbs apple juice 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp cardamom 1-1,5 cup hazelnuts (or other nuts of choice) 1 cup mixed seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, linseed…) 2 tbs chia seeds Coconut flakes andu002For coconut cubes (optional) * (I prefer the large ones - old fashioned type, but rolled oats works as well ) METHOD: 1. Preheat your oven to 180 C. 2. Chop the nuts, and coconut cubes (if using). 3. Add to a bowl along with the oats and the rest of the dry ingredients. 4. In a separate bowl, whisk all the wet ingredients together 5. Add the wet mix to the dry ingredients. Stir well until everything is combined. 6. Spread out over a lined baking tray and gently press down so it’s all even. 7. Bake in the middle of the oven for around 20-30 minutes until it is evenly brown on top and bottom. I usually break it up a little after 20 minutes, then continue baking - checking every 5 minutes until it is ready. This allows it to bake evenly everywhere. Sometimes the total bake time is closer to 45 mins - it depends on your oven 🧡 A couple notes: ✨Brown the butter (if using)! It adds such a depth of flavour! ✨Use whatever nuts and seeds you have in your pantry - it’s a great way to use up little scraps and bits you have lying around! ✨Add dried fruitsu002Fberries if you like, but I recommend adding it after baking to keep the fruits chewy. Let it cool completely before breaking up into small pieces and store in an airtight container. When stored correctly it keeps well for weeks! Great on yogurt, with milk or just on its own as a snack🧡 How do you prefer to eat your granola?
